Dilemma

Post by Artguy » April 26th, 2008, 9:21 am

Well it seems one of my NYC galleries wants me to participate in an exhibit next year in Beijing. As a Buddhist I have a difficult time with Chinas' annexation of Tibet....Oh what to do????

i agree with mtmynd. your there to share art, not debate chinese politics.
maybe make that a sub text of some of your pieces?

*or you could burn all the art on the road to china, like an olympic protest*

As someone who also has an issue with China's annexation of Tibet (and some other stuff too), and someone with a deep appreciation of Buddhism, I can honestly say I've never regretted going to China.

As much as I understand and sympathize with your dilemma, I believe you'd be robbing yourself of a great experience by not going.

Go but have your art work reflect on Tibet. China needs to wake up and get out of there for good!!!! If they think they can white wash the whole thing then they're in for a surprise!!!! :D
