How about 140 users on at one time? Thats some serious attendance.

I dont know where all 417 registered users are. I admit I dont read every forum every day, but I can probably name 20 users off the top of my head. I think maybe alot of people have two of three names also. I have always been YABYUM. Maybe I should invent a darker, more sinister screen name.

"I have always been YABYUM. Maybe I should invent a darker, more sinister screen name."

i'm a one-handled writer myself. anything more and I might confuse myself.

"maybe we should celebrate when we hit 420?"

sounds like fun. let's ask Doreen if she'll supply the food and drinks. if the place gets too (!) rowdy, I'll use the fuck word in bold and capitals. that may quiet things down for a little while.

most of them have never posted or posted only a few

my guess is we have about 25 active members at any given time and of those 25, maybe 1/2 come and post every day

small is good

(if you hit the member list, you can sort by number of posts... there are a lot of zeros! :))

I think the stats for the most users online at once probably include all the bots. There's a lot of non-people who hit this site. No doubt a-bot it. ;) heh

And oh yeah... a party would be great! I'll supply the cyber drinks and food. See you then!

And if you want a REAL party, I was thinking maybe we could do that to celebrate 5 years online in July of 2009.

Five years online!
July 2009!
And it rhymes! ;)

See the Announcement thread with the poetry in Baltimore photos. that's where I put the idea. Maybe I should start a separate thread with the idea and see who's interested. Maybe it would be impossible. I donno.

Would love to meet some more Eighters!

thats a great idea, Doreen. I'd be able to show off the new family. But where? East Coast? A central location would be best, I think. A seperate thread would be a good idea so we can all start putting in our suggestions...

He used to send me such interesting private messages

you're kidding me!

a member who never posted but sent you private messages? That's totally bizarre!

Maybe it was a bot. Were the messages directing you to a website which sold something?

Maybe it was a bot

Here is the message
This may sound strange, but the person who once went as perezoso on this board has been making a series of escalating threats against both me and my wife. I believe we've discovered his identity--narrowed it down to two possible suspects--but before we do anything, my lawyer wants me to find confirmation. I'm a graduate student, and if correct, then he lives within 10 miles of me and my wife. You can understand why someone so unstable making these threats would be a concern to us. Esp. when they come in batches of 30 or 40 a day. If you could confirm his identity for us, howsoever you feel comfortable (first name, last initial or vice versa), that way you can be sure that you are not fingering an innocent man, I would appreciate it. Best,
November 2005 it was sent to me,

OK. Here we go again. Same message you posted in another thread which I was asking about.

*shaking my head* It's a person who never posted one post on this site and yet is claiming he is getting threats from a member here? That's just so bizarre it's totally unbelievable.

At first (when I read where you posted this on another thread below), I wanted to know who sent you that message and follow up on it because it is illegal to threaten people and we cannot tolerate anyone using the studio eight software for illegal activity.

But now that I see that it is a person who registered here and never posted here making a claim against a member here and arbitrarily selecting you to send his accusations to privately, Jack, it's just too bizarre and cannot be true. It makes no sense. Why would someone who has never posted here arbitrarily select you to send this private message to? Do you think this was a regular member using a pseudonym?

Again, shaking my head. It all sounds just so totally odd to me.

Those are heavy duty accusations against one of our members and unless there is evidence to the fact that the software was used for someone to threaten someone else, it's just gossip bullshit.

I don't do gossip bullshit well.

Do you think it could be perezoso who sent me that message as p.w.l. ???
I mean you got the isp addresses can't you look it up and see if it is a match?

I am channelling crazy mike my father
the most paranoid man I ever met.
Took me years to cry for my father.

I don't want to do gossip either

I don't even want to go into this
I did not think I would have to explain it

What's to get Doreen?
I am only posting it for the sake of the tensegrity of the sudio eight website.
