Meanwhile back at the Ranch

Post by STUPID BOB » December 23rd, 2004, 12:54 am

While we were whittlin' on Perezoso's whittlin' on everyone else and I was lost in the stuff of stars, a 16-foot wide asteriod passed the Earth in a really close call. Thanks for the call Roger. I love your AZ mountaintop view. 2004 YD passed just below the 22,300 mile range where geostationary satellites feed us everything from GPS data to your 500 channels and there ain't nuthin' on. The damn thing wasn't visible on approach. It came through the CBS and that makes it mighty hard to see until it passes. This one would have hurt.

I remember witnessing the big one that skimmed off our atmosphere at an altitude of 60kms back in '72.
That was some show.
