i live in a condo without a balcony so no opportunity to grow my own food. however, i do enjoy the big leafy green trees outside my windows that nurture me

Thx, 'J'... Soo and I are both responsible for the garden. We did a lot of prep work to the soil... the foundation to any healthy garden.

I'm very pleased with how it's progressing.

Thx, jimbo... gypsy J... I don't know how accurate that compliment really is, but I thank you. Soo & I try to do the right thing as often as we can. Sometimes we fuck up pretty badly in trying. Therein lies the number uno problemo: 'trying.' Sometimes we're so busy trying that being becomes lost. That's the true art.

I also like to work with earth directly even though at home at the moment I only have place for one helecho and two cactus!!! (the little palmera died ). But I have a whole apple to do whatever I/we want and can at work at school!!!!!!!! We planted in the last weeks habas, arvejas, rabanitos, lechuga, achicoria, perejil, puerro and hinojo!!! (I promise photos in the next months if the weather help us!!!!!!!). The kids love that (for one reason or other!!) . My plan for this year is also to have a place for flowers and aromatic plants and also have a cook- taller with the kids of seventh year. We´ve been doing this from 1997 but stopped last year for the incredible ammount of rain (this year seems to be the opposite ).

I'm so jealous! I'm growing a garden on my balcony, and its just not the same. Even worse, I'm getting a new apartment in July with no balcony/patio space, so I guess I'm going to have to bring it all inside. (and while that would make a wonderful living space, I just feel like plants should be outside).

There are a bunch of community gardens here in Madison. Where people grow their own vegetables. I'm not sure how long this has been going on but it seems to be working quite well.
