Sunday Stream (13) - thumb thing

Post by mtmynd » December 26th, 2004, 3:32 pm

_________

"If it's not thumb thing it's another" -

The thumb identifies mankind. That first digit of ours, opposing the other four digits - thumb is movable, flexible and reactionary, it is thumb-thing.

I get thumb-struck by what we have done with thumb. We create thumb things that hold us in awe, we make thumb-things that kill and destroy... one on each hand, each opposing each other ~ thumb-dee-dum-thumb...

Astrology/Palmistry has thumb thing to say about it -

"The Mount of Venus at the base of the thumb is very indicative of a person's passions. A high, well-proportioned Mount means that the individual is full of energy, is outgoing, has a great deal of interest in life, and can be very vital and enthusiastic. Those whose Mount of Venus is flat, like a plateau, are very energetic. They like brainy pursuits, their friends are characters who resist the active mainstream of life, and their sense of discipline works best with specific mental activities, like the pursuits of writers, sculptors, lawyers, community organisers, and rock climbers".

...and if you'd really like to get into thumb-thing, there's this ~

"The shape of the thumb's tip is a strong indicator of the inner power. A pointed or conical thumb shows an impulsive nature and a person being perceptive, while a square thumb is a sign of common sense. A bulbous tip indicates a violent temper, and a tip that bends far back shows a far-out personality, usually artistic or involved in an exotic mental pursuit. A person with a flat-tipped thumb is impatient and full of nervous energy." [google: thumb astrology]

I know thumb of us will refute these things, even find them thumby, but thumb of us do notice that thumb of these things are just thumbnail sketches of the person that makes up most of these traits - our sign-ature is unique, belonging only to us... specifically ours, no matter what thumb-one may say.

Can you imagine not getting a firm grip on a can of beer! How could thumb-body pick us up if we couldn't use our thumb? How about the inability to tweak thumbthing? How could we ever grasp anything without our thumb! That must be the true meaning of 'the thumb total.' We feel we are pretty complete... we were even made in God's image ... wow! how complete can we get? It's all pretty amazing that thumbthing like this was given to us. Thumbs UP! to us for having thumb contol over the world... we are a chosen lot, forever choosing between "thumb thing or another..."

Happy New Year,
[unless you're on the Chinese Calendar... that's thumbthing different... ]

Who bars the path
that leads within..?

The owner?
The owner.

He that owns the path within
does not bar entrance to what
belongs to all... ever... for ever.

Is that not reserved for the few
the few that know the path
to take... to gain more material
not enough to go around..?

He who holds the treasure
must also hold the hunter
for the two are but one
taking its turn seeking the light

deleted posts, like I wanted to step out of the picture
As a rule of thumb I hardly ever deleted a post. Something about those Griffins guarding the gate struck a chord with me, fear but with a memory of courage, fear has blocked my path for many of year. but now I got my thumb out again. I went through stilltrucking's post like sherman went through georgia on his way to the sea.

as I was deleting them the image or flashback or maybe "eidetic" image a mental being , a character in a novel that she wrote forty years ago, about the time I died, a young college student sitting on the roof of the Amazon Hotel piece by piece throwing all her clothes into the dark New York night. Strange? I mean I got this woman living in my head, a woman that is a joke around studio eight, the blonde bitch the professors wives called her.
Well it was very liberating deleting all those posts, I kept thinking "WHAT THE FUCK STILL TRUCKING" they say Jews have a very low suicide rate. But it still ain't zero percent. I probably lost a couple of months work, most of these text boxes I don't save, just open one and let it rip. So I only have a vague idea of what I wrote. Spontaneous posts vaporize, sublimate. but I am interesed in the gaps and the replys, juxtoposition. I may go in and repost to those (...) with a disclaimer of course so as to protect the innocent.

my replys to your streams, starting with this one are fossilized, bugs in amber, like graffitti in wet concrete. opposable pollux also good for holding needle and thread, the naked ape has a good tailor these days, clean underware and a nice suit.
