ohio in your face

Post by constantine » May 29th, 2008, 10:52 am

always knew it would come to this
stuck in the middle of ohio
between a dairy queen and a burger king
now that's fucking royal
it's like a cheesy prophecy
from an oracle to go
would you like fries with that
she said
with her eyes glowing
let me get back to you on that
could you define fries
nice try
for what it's worth
you can't escape the oracular
wouldn't be oracular if you could
that is the essence of their oracularity
their oraculariousness
sounds like a hell of a time doesn't it
sounds like a party going on
one that i'm not fucking invited to
and it pisses me off
i'm a nice guy
people like me dammit
but not enough to invite me to one
of their waterfuckingcress soirees
screw them
sideways
yeah you heard me
want to hear it again
i think i know you do
sideways and in reverse
promenade left and spin
by george, i think she's got it
do you really think she got it
yes quite
hey check it out
the big ass salad bar
with those garlic croutons
i love those garlic croutons
don't you love those garlic croutons
i thought you would
i could see it in your eyes
you're a scorpio right
knew it
i get along with scorpios
until they bite me on the ass
hey where you going
i was just joking
kidding around
screw you then
who needs you
i don't need anybody
especially you
hear me
you can act like you don't hear me
but just between us i think i know that you do
so there
play your little game
everybody has a little game to play
except me
i don't play no games
nobody let's poor rudolph
play in any reindeer games
that ain't right
that sucks, santa
yeah
that's goofy beaver
yeah beav
that's goofy
stay out of it whitey
this is between me and the beav
look out beav he's got a knife
hey wally
he goodbye cholly
chop chop
all fall down
beep beep
beaver started it mr. cleaver
mr. cleaver beaver started it
ward, is everything ok
i don't know, june
is everything ok
you tell me dear
you seem to know every little fucking thing
that goes on in the old homestead
don't you sweetheart
yes dear
and i know that can be a little aggravating
so if you'll just let go of my throat ward
i'll wash the dishes
what dishes
we didn't even fucking eat yet
what the hell is going on here june

great, constantine
you gave me an idea
no. i take that back
you gave me a couple,
a couple of ideas, that is
but if i think about it
you gave me quite a few
ideas, that is... but honestly
you gave me a laugh
a poetic laugh is a good laugh
to hell with the ideas
they can be burdensome

Too cool, Dino...

Lately, whenever 'Ohio' comes up, I can't help but think of Ed Abbey's irreverent conversations with Midwestern tourists when he was a ranger at Arches Nat. Monument in the sixties... Ohio man: "This would be good country (Utah), if only you had some water". Abbey: "If we had water here, this country would not be what it is. It would be like Ohio, all covered with cabbage farms and golf courses...."

I love her ( but she won't answer any of my love letters)....cool poem..
it's worth a visit to youtube to one of their live versions of "My City
Was Gone"....great Ohio stuff there................
