American Wizards
Shark an' spider, windmill tower
rain an' magnet, road and weather
crow an' stardust, guitar & rust
hands craned to display an arc of flame
and he crackles electric,
eyes shinin' bold
(eyes burnin' gold)
star-iron flute carries the tune,
struck with lightning picked by hand
And as the sunflowers rise,
there's a bird in the skies
"Hollowbone, black-and-white"
Shout out loud, vitriolite
Dreams cut crossways, vent divine vectors
significantly divine rays claw dust.
And the rosewood cleaves into song
with a jangle of steel, in the circle stood;
And off there blasts a cannon of wood
shot so straight (ain't no one else could)
put a hole in a cloud,
down comes the shroud.
And burst the campfire, sunset closes
blue sky pink, chain of roses
And decision and the question poses;
One throws back his scarf, one takes a drag
one laughs out loud, one tilts his hat
One reaches up to adjust his hood
"We got this? Good."

Thanks, both of you
(got the new hat for Christmas, L~Rod)
I think I'm going to write a book called "American Wizards"
or start a musical project called "American Wizards"
or write a stage production called "American Wizards"
I don't know which I want to do yet, but I know I want to do something big with the idea

This new had doesn't fit as well as my Chicago fedora, which I found by chance and somehow managed to fit perfectly. The first hat I ever had, it was. I also stumbled across a 3-piece pinstripe suit that fits perfectly and is excellently complemented by the hat, and it only cost me $15. Things I want have a way of finding me
perezoso: I find myself in a strange position in which I often find myself online; it seems to me that I should acknowledge your response just now, but I haven't the slightest idea how to go about doing such a thing. Ordinarily I would just be silent, but it occurred to me to be direct & honest, so I am being so.
Of course, this response of mine is thoroughly useless. Which is one reason why I would ordinarily be silent

What--the quote offends ye? Or Neruda does? If you iz Xtian I guess it should offend ye. As with say Rilke or Stevens, Neruda is one of those poets that will make you give up the idea of ever writing any poetry of lasting value....his wizardry makes any folksinger or rocker dude smash their pathetic little gitfiddles on nearby boulders......but you have to get over his somewhat Stalinist attitude towards los gueros...o los gavachos....
carry on comrade........

I like the word "aplomb." And "panache."
One of my goals in life is for people to think of me when they think of those words
Edward Scissorhands? I'm afraid I haven't seen it, 'though I am a big fan of both Johnny Depp & Tim Burton, so I don't know exactly what you mean
I am rather pale though
and I have very long fingernails on one hand, for playing fingerstyle guitar. I also use the thumbnail for opening packages.
