too hot to write (reworked a bit)

Post by emel.scott » June 9th, 2008, 8:09 pm

sweat dripping off my forehead
onto the screen
blurring the words
my eyes can't focus
too hot to write

lets get naked
and jump in the pool
I'll tickle you
you can try to dunk me
tease me about how my penis shrinks

we'll float on our backs
and look for faces in the clouds
listening under the water
to the sound of our breathing
look, there's Jerry Garcia
you'll see Hello Kitty

then we'll wrap ourselves in big towels
I'll try to dry your recesses
you'll back away laughing
a chase will ensue
you will win when I...
bent at the waist
and breathing hard
complain
"I'm too old for this"

time to fluff up the pillows
and turn down the air
make a pitcher of black currant ice tea
grab what's left of the dried salami
gruyere, apples, pears
pita and garlic hummus
kalamata olives

I promise
we'll only talk about the best times
we'll share funny secrets...
little things that people
are sometimes afraid to share
tiny revelations of what annoys us
about each other

you'll get the five year old giggles
then sink into my safe arms
I will feel that thing
that viewpoint from a place
emancipated by love
that tells me
it's you there

our foreheads will touch
rolling gently back and forth
eyes locked into
this other world
that we create together
then I will kiss you

Emel, this is pure magical romance! Your description of the playful frolic in the pool is like a breath of fresh air. Keep on writing.

Thanks John, i wrote this quickly and posted it...then all the way home I thought i should have taken my own advice and accepted that it was really too damn hot to write. i was gonna delete it as soon as i got home. after your post, i figured i'd work on it a little more and try to strengthen it a bit...so thanks for the encouragement....i guess :)

scott, you romantic devil, you....great images...tender honesty abounds...but if I ever see Jerry Garcia with Hello Kitty, I'm gonna cut back on the tequila.....well done

yeah Steve, now i know where my brain defaults to when it's fried...shit, when I cooled off i realized my mistake and tried to delete this before everyone found out, but alas, it was too late...that damn 'true romantic' John had posted a response and locked it in...shucks
