wide as the afternoons

Post by Perdida » June 15th, 2008, 8:34 am

i love you, and shout it to the sky
to a squadron of birds against the light
so that you’ll hear me, beloved

oh but how you open your arms to me
and touch me from far away
wide as the afternoons

you speak to me of forgotten wishes
the pale dreams which collapse you
and you collapse me
with the moon that survives in your eyes
brilliant as a lamp

and oh how it warms my soul
an argosy of kisses filled with your soul
filled with my sea-music
The path to true love isn't always straight.

i like this. it's nicely filled with wonderful sounding phrases that briefly hold me before letting go to the next and then the next...

oh how I wish the soft simple lonely love were mine again
instead of this rat infested bulge that I embrace
I sold myself for a handfull of darkness
and a gun to kill the pain

hold on sweet miss to your pure heart
We should not mind if on our ear there fell. Some less of cunning, more of oracle...Thoreau
