Homecoming
Every year many in the kink and leather communities get together for one of the several 3-5 day long events offered nationwide. They are usually held at large private camping compounds or at a hotel. Typically, they attract anywhere from 350 to1200 people. This poem was written about one such event.
Homecoming
So where is this place anyway
This place where flesh is free
Where climax lost will surely find
The salve for its unholy need
This place of sin and savants
This place of naked laughter
Built on the sweat and sinew
Of its fluid bonded Masters
It’s here beyond the edge of earth
Beyond the false salvation
That lifts the crusty dust of soul
To blow it toward perdition
Myopic men of cloth will say
We've fallen from their grace
But soon we'll settle in the mirth
And swell in her embrace
From far off, twisted genes will come
To pool dark alchemy
That turns their coal to diamonds
And their lead to golden fleece
The women of the fist will come
Sweet Sappho troupe en masse
With piston sweat and churning maw
Their passion strikes the primal match
And little boys of light will come
To prove the lie of history
Put on display, for all to know
The power of their vacuum chi
The crisscrossed and the crossed will come
And those afraid to cross will come
The lost and lonely will come too
And those who like to view will come
I hear the sound of clomping hooves
Some lumbering and some refined
As riders teamed with handlers drive
A heard of humanesque equine
The Poly Pagan priestess comes
The Buddhist of salacious orb
And hedonists add to this grist
As overland and sea they ford
The beast with truncheon hand will come
And cuckolds void of spite and loath
The hundred rages of our youth
The vegan with her vampire love
Across vanilla mountains trudge
Past jeering crowds of distain, slog
Tote duffel trek to common lodge
With brethren in this Land of Oz
Near waning moon’s high water mark
Earth journey ends, mind journey starts
In Noah we have put our faith
To pair our fetish in the Ark
The mountain lion with the hare
The can with billy goat
The harlot with confessional
The castle with the moat
I see the Devil bow his head
In prayer he gives his thanks
Prepared to burn our daily bread
As God of Eros fills his tanks
And only then we’ll touch the flame
The Mistress and the meek
Rejoice in rainbow incandescence
Relishing our short lived feast

sounds like a bosch painting or
have you ever heard of:
sodom and whatever that other place was called?
have you ever heard of:
sodom and whatever that other place was called?
And the Lord said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;
I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.

And y'all swap?
i mean, do you do a one-on-one with different ones or do you a bunch of you do it together?
Or?
Oh man, I'm so outta the loop when it comes to this stuff.
What's a vacuum chi?
"And those who like to view will come" .... so some people just go to watch? voyeurs, eh?
"I hear the sound of clomping hooves" ... they come on horseback?
Does it cost money?
What types of organizations put on these shindigs?
Do they serve dinner?
Or do you all just eat out?
heh
....
about the poem... I donno.. I'd have to hear you speak it.. but seems to me that some of the lines have too many beats in them. I mean, they don't match the other ones.
Interesting glimpse, tho.

I think that was a pretty nice poem
I know so little about poetry but even I could see the craft that went into it.
Not sure if it had to many beats or not.
Poetry beats me.
I been following your posts about fetishes and thinking about the broader meaning of the word as a cultural anthropologist might use it.
The mystical and religious sense of the word.
pardon the ramble
I would appreciate your tolerance.

if i still have a job, i might go to daytona beach since i have a free place to stay.... if not, i'll have to skip the vacation to look for work.
sorry to get all serious on ya there, lrod... i know you were kidding
'cause you know me better than that
i get in emotional turmoil having a love affair with one lover... i truly can't imagine sex for the sake of sex only with multiple partners
i'm sure some enjoy it, but it ain't my cuppa tea.... i can't keep emotions out of the sex act .... my heart is directly connected to my sexuality

truthfully, on second reading, I find this piece sickening
it devalues humanity and commitment
as far as I'm concerned, you can abuse yourself in any way you choose
I'm all for Body Sovereignty
but this is degrading
it shits on the meaning of conjugality
I've had it every way, one way, two way, three way, four way and way way more
and this is what I've found:
it's all a bore
unless it means something
same a poetry
it devalues humanity and commitment

LRod, are you talking about the poem or the comments. Somewhere along the line Doreen got off on this swapping thing, but I make no mention of it. As far as devaluing humanity, I have no clue what you are talking about. Individuals exercizing consensual free will, to me at least, heightens humanity rather then degrades it. There are very high levels of commitment, safety, intimacy, spiritual exploration et al. Partners support each other in pursuit of their indivdual interests and needs. You rarely see the back-door politics of many who live in relationships of silent desperation when their needs are not being met. Illicit 'affairs' are almost unheard of here. I would think that humanity is more greatly diminished by dishonesty then honesty, even if you are not a fan of the particular way in which it manifests in some people.[/quote]

I guess that is what was my point Clay
or Doreen or who ever said it is a bore.
Kind of like a masturbation phantascy
But I am a sick puppy
I bored with fetishes
but there is a lot more to the word than just its
conotation
denotation
oh hell
Unless you are pretty frigging freudian
and think everything is sexual
which I suppose it could be
but something spooky about fetishes
that goes way past erotic
there are war fetishes for example
and those Native American Fetish dolls
Kuchinas?
but it sounds like a good time was had by all in that poem
different strokes
just not my thing scott
but it was a veryinteresting poem.
a dionysian
(sp?) festival.
and home sweet home is where our treasure lies
sex is ludicrous
love is all there is
no idea where my treasure lies
at sea I sometimes think
or under it
or Doreen or who ever said it is a bore.

please don't think that I am disparaging you, scott
I'll fight for your right to do anything you want to say or do
I've just found that these types of relationships are hollow. Maybe it's my bad.
But when you say there is no cheating involved it this type of relationship, it sounds a bit like when George Bush declassified the Plame information so that he could legitimize the leak.
I would fuck a knothole in a tree if it had hair around it. But to make excuses for adultery by having an organization is just a bit much for me. Why don't you just call it what it is? Cheating with consent.
I hope you find fulfillment in this activity.

You mean couples go to these things and only have sex with each other?
They don't have sex with the other people who attend these events?
Yes, I used the word "swapping" because that's what I figured it was. A bunch of people who enjoy a certain type of sex which you refer to as "kink and leather" get together.
If they don't get together to have sex with each other, why do they go to this? I don't get it.
Correct me if I'm wrong... by "kink and leather" you're talking about sado-masochism and domination, is that right?
Well, if it's not, please explain what "kink and leather" is then.
AND if this is true.... "high levels of commitment, safety, intimacy, spiritual exploration et al. Partners support each other in pursuit of their indivdual interests and needs." .... do you mean that the partners only have sex with each other, remaining in their partnership?
And if that's true.... then what are they doing in this big group that meets with each other?
They just do their thing in front of the rest of the group and the rest of the group watches, like an audience, without participating?
Sorry. As I said, I'm way outa the loop when it comes to such a lifestyle. I know nothing about it. I have always had one partner at a time and none of my partners or I have been into "kink and leather" though I love my leather jacket and leather boots and leather handbag.
I just don't understand what this gathering is for if it doesn't involved sharing partners .... which I called "swapping."
(excuse this poorly penned post, please..... it looks like I repeated myself a few times and I'm too tired to edit it)

In most case that option is there but it's always a matter of individual choice. This is not really the "swapping" community. It's more the Poly community where some people have more then one commited, loving, long term relationshipAnd y'all swap?
i mean, do you do a one-on-one with different ones or do you a bunch of you do it together?
What's a vacuum chi?
I'm referring here to submissives males who are often thought of as weak because they don't exhibit strong masculinity. Many that I know are amongst the most powerful people I've ever met...but it is a quiet power
yes, it's a free environment where people are accepted no matter what they look like or what their interests, as long as they respect each others space, plain and simple. There a lots of voyeurs, obviously, I am one"And those who like to view will come" .... so some people just go to watch? voyeurs, eh?
no, humans dressed up and acting like horses, some pull carts others are riden, some just perform. It varies widely and it's a wonderfully intimate fetish of non verbal commmunication and very entertaining. (its history actually dates back hundreds maybe thousands of years)"I hear the sound of clomping hooves" ... they come on horseback?
Does it cost money?
of course, the venue and the food all cost money, some do this for profit, some are sponsored by non-profit organizations
Dark Odyssey, Black Rose (DC), TESS (NYC)What types of organizations put on these shindigs?
Folsom Fringe (SF) etc.
This is the Doreen I've come to know and loveDo they serve dinner?
Or do you all just eat out?

Constenting adults have the right to screw each other in any permutation and combination of sex acts. I agree
I was just saying
Fetish is a hell of a word
Very spooky for me
to think about
what ever
sex, war, money, cars, or a kachina doll.
I am out of here.
sorry about the sloppy writing
a fetish of mine.

one can't be into B&D without trust... a great deal of trust. it won't work without extreme trust. the subs actually have the say-so. they say stop the dom stops, period. think about that. you could never perform without that degree of trust.
google 'pony girls'... what emil says is true. it's a fetish for sure, but it's another level of trust that has to happen or there is no show.
the scene which he speaks of is certainly not for everybody, myself included. but i am aware of it and have done some reading on the subject. however, most people that haven't a clue fear the thought of participating. it's akin to the same fear that the homophobes have towards gay relationships and, now, marriage. they have a problem seeing beyond their fears and lack of knowledge of this subject or any other subject that worries them.
