Hotline to Heaven

Post by saw » June 18th, 2008, 7:39 am

Trust me
brothers and sisters
my interpretations are unique,
complex,
hell I can walk on water
a little myself, you know,
got connections
to the right people,
the front office upstairs,
that a poor wretch like you
can only dream of.
I too was a miserable sinner
and when I was in the depths
of despair, in the throes
of Satan's Shadow,
about to lose my home...
It came to me, I mean He did
and He spoke to me,
"Jimmy, my man, you need to
be on TV", and that my dear friends
was the genesis of my all-accepting
ministry (except American Express),
The Hotline To Heaven.
Save yourselves my friends
while there is still time,
worship this message I bring you,
pray with me, close your eyes
and open your hearts (and wallets),
commit to His awesome grace,
today only...I can hook you up
with backstage passes,
front row seats at His feet,
no waiting in line at the gates,
no gimics or hidden costs,
cleanse your souls dear friends,
get your VIP tickets today....
And all I ask from you brothers and sisters
is for you to surrender
your free will,
your credit card number ... and
your expiration date.
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

business and church - church and business. funny how they end up on the same side of the fence. i too was a miserable sinner - now i'm just a siinner. that's a step in the right direction. if you ever start a church - let me be the one to pronounce the anathema - i can excommunicate with the best.

Saw I'm amazed at your fount of creativity. Your poems are sharp, witty, and extremely lucid. This poem is no exception.
