Haiku

Post by sooZen » December 27th, 2004, 10:39 am

If you are not sure where something belongs, find a new space for it. Haiku is about as snippet as you can get.

dog asleep
in the red chair-
cold snapper

...

coffee steam
hides the moon
in the window

...

a fly
in the bathroom-
winter refugee

"Guido uses wit and humor to make life beautiful for his son. It is a high wire act of comic absurdity with a safety net of sentimentality. There is a touching moment when Giosue asks Guido why there is a sign in the candy store window that says no Jews or dogs allowed. He tells his son about a crazy law that allows shop owners to keep out whomever they wish: there is a hardware store that keeps out Spaniards and they will put a sign up on their store saying "No Visigoths or spiders allowed."

back in the sixties the congress for racial equality was trying to integrate a Jewish owned deli in Mobtown. One of the owners said "Why do they want to go where they are not welcome?"
Why should I expect Jews to be any less racist/prejudiced than anyone else?
