air plain, cloud on side

Post by mtmynd » July 18th, 2008, 6:37 pm

lips frozen in silence
eyes anchored to zero
i've been swindled by
my own meditations -
taken into realms
without beginnings
without endings

i sweat pearls of nausea
drinking in the pollution
grasping for the paradise
that was promised by saints
whose words have been loaded
into shotguns of discipline
aimed at targets drawn
in fantasies that elude me

but the meditation weakens
ideologies of freedom staggers
painting oiled portraits of smiles
denying the inevitabilities of
crash landings by blind pilots
into what could have been now

clarity marred by catseye tears
stretched haphazardly across
speeding windshields on hiways
paved by history's attack on itself

pause and release the pixels
from their binary dungeons
let them breath in the
three dimensional definition
of life never-ending : eternal

when i studied spiritual philosophies, and the mechanics thereof, i learned that some have a path that includes visions, powers, dreams, you name it - but this is considered litter in the way of, or hopefully to be surmounted on the path to - liberation.

enjoyed very much.

"hiways paved by history's attack on itself...."

This line is so profound I nearly fell off my chair.
(Ok, so I was half on it about 2 or 3 lines down but....)
Mercy!
What a tremendous hit this read is....

that's the Fire Child, she's a recent acquisition of art, hung here by my computer. she is born of sun: a ball of radiant light.

our country seemed to have such promise....a bountiful platter of possibility for financial, moral, ethical, spiritual fulfillment that now
appears to have dried up...it doesn't mean it's impossible to grow and prosper, but the deck is stacked against us as the houses of cards
are foreclosing ......writing is a good release, and you have penned,
oops...typed, an excellent picture of the modern world.........last stanza is killer...two minutes earlier i was cursing technology with a friend...
nice read..........
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

howdy, saw. i really enjoy this : "...but the deck is stacked against us as the houses of cards are foreclosing..."

these are surely times of turbulence and trouble that seems to grow incrementally on daily basis if we rely on the news to bake our daily bread. hard not to if we read. it's a challenge to read the positive only because it's not as interesting, but it's there... out there on corners, in clubs, behind dumpsters and beneath shady trees in public parks... the positive is there laying in wait until JQ Public invites it into the circle of acceptance.

thx for your reply. i liked it.

This is some fine mind-tweak writing, Cecil.
History is malleable, lends itself to all manner of self-attack. We tend to be smitten with the greed and fear-- history seems pretty consistent on that point. But then, all bets are off now, with the population and technology explosion and all!! How dangerous are all those Napoleon complexes now?

And yes.... Release the pixels from their binary dungeons!

Free the pixels!!

Thx, mnaz, for the 'free the pixels" back-up. they really do need to be free of their binary existence... just think how much they could do, say, within a quad-ary existence. amazing!

...and Doreenaroonie!! very kind of you to pick this piece for my numero uno spot. i hadn't given that any thought, you know, until i read that. merci! :)
