Hypnosis & Accupuncture
Anybody ever try hypnosis?
How about self hypnosis?
Tell me about your experiences.
What did you use it for? Did it help?
I've heard hypnosis can help with lifestyle issues like smoking, weight loss, etc., and also be helpful in battling depression.
Also I've read that accupuncture can be quite effective for treating various different ailments.
Have any of you tried accupuncture?
Can you share your experiences, both positive and negative?
I'm very curious about these two things.

Hey westie - did the accu-pressure foot massage do anything positive to help with whatever you were trying to accomplish?
I've read about applying pressure to various points in your hand and shoulder to relieve headaches (if I remember correctly), but if I remember correctly, I either didn't do it right or it didn't work but maybe I need to learn where the spot is for applying pressure for memory enhancement.
heh
Hope some people here have some experiences to share as I've been curious about both of these or quite some time. Maybe we can both garner some education from the experiences of others.
Once I had a waiter escort me and my party to the bar area of the restaurant because I asked for a smoking session. He said, "I used to sit in bars to eat all the time until I stopped smoking 10 years ago using hypnosis. It really works!" We talked for a few minutes and he convinced me that he was absolutely convinced that it worked! He said he was a heavy smoker for a number of years and after 2 sessions with a hypnotist, totally stopped and hasn't had a desire for one again. That type of story is inspiring to me!
But maybe it has to do with what you believe. I donno.
I mean, if I believe that under hypnosis, the hypnotist might take advantage of me and make me do things I'll never remember, then I won't ever try it, right? What's the use of not remembering?;)
Which brings us back full circle to the unknown point of pressure for memory enhancement.
....
Hey... even though I'm joking around... I'm really serious about this topic so if you all have any stories to tell, I'm all ears. Thank you.

my understanding is that hypnosis is real and effective on some people. not everyone is suceptible to that type of suggestion, but if you are why not: quit smoking, loose weight, become more intelligent, get the motivation to be rich and whatever else you want.
yes, the accupressure was helpful in relieving stress and detoxification. it can be used for almost anything as meridians found in the foot correspond to all the body's major and minor systems and parts.
look around the internet for info on theraputic hand massage and ...... ooooooh ya!!! the ear lobes baby
yeah, i'm looking forward to what others have to say.
i think kissing therapy would be useful

acupuncture!
yes, with 2 different acupuncturists.
When the practitioner is great, the treatment is wonderful, effective.
My wonderful cousin-in-law, who lives in Camden, Maine, is the best. She's amazing.
The one who lives on the kibbutz is less so.
It's about correct diagnosis and knowledge of how to treat. Find a reputable person and go for a consultation. There's a list of reputables on the net.

kissing therapy is the only thing that make any sense in this whole thread
if you believe that having someone stick pins in you will alter you, then you might as well get a voodoo barbie
and I know it would be nice if all your problems could be solved by a foot massage, it's a matter of belief
and if it's a matter of belief, why not just believe that you are fine?
of course scientifically nobody has ever verified that hypnosis even exists
I think houdini put up a prize for anyone who could prove it and the prize hasn't been claimed
people in desperate conditions are prone to believe in voodoo

For doreen & westie, who provided 97.6% of the material used here, Salute!
its like bats coming out of your mouth backwards
tell hypnosis you did battle depression & stuck needles
in yourself to get better then you will have stories about
ten years ago - to stop desire or addiction - how it all worked
or what if you believed the number of the years or didn't remember
anything --- I was round once and joking - a full circle back and
coming with a heart subject to liquifaction - I'm forward to say
what others yeah once having seen two meridians face off in
the street guns drawn and firing until one fell down and lay there
coughing out his foot rich with motivation and parts more intelligent
used for almost anything or losing whatever else you want but
not remembering whats the use of that? really serious...no,really...
a theraputic massage glad hand the earlobes oooooooo yeah baby
convince me
I'm absolutely convinced
lets garner therapy kissing
I'm an entire spot for
the application of enhancement education
pressure me - I believe various points o its in
my hand! advantage me! or curious!
both of these! or quite some time!
it was a smoking session!
(This concludes the erotically-tinged portion of our program)
...seriously, no,really...now I have to tow my car into a shop - I was coming home yesterday when smoke & flames began coming out from underneath the hood...it was glorious! it was like Snoopy getting shot down by the Red Baron in the skies over France trailing smoke and me with my fingers crossed hoping to make my driveway... all the neighbors were pointing their fingers and saying "Look at him & in public,no less, the man has no shame!"... now, to both of you I say thank you for beginning my day in such a grand manner, I had a ball with all this and I hope the smiles I'm sending you arrive unscathed for, I'm sure you know, this is a total living lampoon with no satire intended or involved. One of these days, when I get into the Kingdom, I'm hoping I will never have to ever again issue a disclaimer about anything. I hope ya'll have a great day and thanks again, girls, and I'm off your thread.

westie - i didn't know it was possible to make me more intelligent. See how stupid i am? lol
lightning rod - Accupuncture is definitely not hocus pocus. I'm not sure about hypnosis but I also tend to think not so. "Kissing therapy" is hocus pocus. No doubt about that.

don't know much about hypnosis, but acupuncture/acupressure both are a stimulation of the meridians (channels of life energy in the body according to TCM), removing blockages and enhancing circulation to balance the energy flow.
acupressure works with physical pressure onto the acupressure points that are located on the meridians, and like shiatsu, qi gong, tai chi, moxibustion, martial arts, it is all about working with the qi energy.
my husband, who is a physiotherapist, martial arts teacher and movement coach, works a lot with it, and i've always found it to be quite helpful when things are just not "right", feel unbalanced, out of tune.
personally, i've made good experiences with it when it came to headaches, pregnancy discomfort, backages, influenza, injuries, etc... and i know he's helped many people with it who suffered from severe restraints and pain in the locomotor system.

The word hypnosis make me see at the same time again W.Allen´s Jade scorpion while I write this
but no, I didn´t try hypnosis or acupunture.
But we have family-stories related with that: one of my grandmothers during a serie of operations and illnesses refused to eat, my grandfather called a neighbor doctor that did also hypnosis, he hypnotized her and she suddenly showed willing to eat again. The other grandfather had problems with both of his knees, he did acupunture, no result according him (he was near eighty).
I tried reflexology and reiki. They felt good (painful, healing, movilizating, centering, loving, observing).

I beg to differ about the kissing therapy
it's by far more scientifically supported than voodoo pins and swinging watches
kissing stimulates endorphins (among other hormones....haha)
experienced whores don't kiss
it's a professional trick and whores know the tricks
it's not about disease, it's about intimacy
kissing is much more intimate than fucking
hence the phrase, 'fucked and not kissed'
