grotesque

Post by Odette » July 29th, 2008, 6:24 pm

The elevator. A shiny tin can. Coffin.

I stare at feet encased in Italian leather to avoid. Everywhere house of mirrors. Bad hair. Lips ricochet off metal walls.

I miss my floor. Key it again. The elevator stops, I hold my breath. Clenched fists. Pretty cell phone impromptu brass knuckle.

A girl walks in. Bow-legged Geisha. Looks with curious dark eyes.

I look away. Confront the image of us. Wall, to wall, to wall, to wall.

beautifully captured moment, Odette.

i lived on the 14th floor of a tower block for 18months and never once thought of how pretty/scary/sexual/charged lifts can be.

Literally, it means "top right" in french.

I suspect it's an idiom for top shelf or good stuff... something like that.

Of course, you didn't ask me but hey, since I was here when you asked, I figured I'd answer anyway. ;)
