thinking about grand maw a gain
I am moving through a pink mist of memory
the big wood stove
the pot boiling away
with the chicken feet sticking out of it

she never wasted any part of a chicken
but she never killed them herself
she carried them to lombard street
to jew town
where they were ritualy slaughtered
their throats slit the blood drained

escape velocity
at the speed of the silver flash
streaking across the powder blue midnight sky

homewood campus
JHU
North charles

my home away from home
as if someone had moved the lloyd street shul in jewtown
to north charles st

and the inside of that plain quaker meeting house was more inspiring to me then all the cathederals in europe stacked one on another

"buy the truth and never sell it"
my bizness model

Mount vernon square
the father of our country
Peabody Conservaory of music
summer
great windows thrown open on the pactice rooms
music wafts over me on a park bench out side

Now where camden yards is
The Roosevelt hotel
jazz club in a basement bar
young woman playing the flute
a peabody student on the wild side of b'more
and behind the bar on the mirror a sign that said
have a nice trip

when my life flashes before my eyes
going to be a lot of b more in it

oh say can you see by the jam's early light....

I can see myself eating fresh
pasta & drinking red wine
but I'm having a tunafish sandwich
& drinking 13 hour old coffee
instead of pursuing happiness
glad to be eating
and drinking anything at all

but now there ain't nothing but 'shine out there
got to get some ballast boxes for the
lights in my kitchen
I was making coffee by flashlight before
dawn this morning just like I been doing
every morning for the last 15 days when
I asked myself "Watcha doin',ming?
so got to get my flat cheeks down to
my local Loew's, get the items, and
get back here and get situated
Let there be light.
You boys just ~Go & ride on
