I rented De-Lovely last night, just for the hell of it. Cole Porter and all. I do alot of his songs.
Good God. What is it with these silly vain little chronicles? It's alarming how uncharming!
Total shite.
heaves of nausea abounded.

Sorry, Cole.........

hmmm.... I've been meaning to rent it because the CD soundtrack is fabulous. We listened to it in a little pub last summer. The bartender was playing it.

too bad to hear the film sucks.

thanks for the heads up, hest.

i'll probably save my $3.50 and buy the CD instead.

I totally agree. It's a mess of boredom and corniness, and the songs, I thought, were not enthusiastically performed.
And on a further note, I wish we reach the point in our society where homosexuality is accepted, rather than being the shock factor that can make a movie "edgy"

my wife loved it

i moved over to the computer at about minute 45

as for the shock value aspect of the homosexuality, i think its inclusion is important if their story is being approached from the angle of strange relationships within the context of the times...but the producers seem to have gone at it from that slant because of the shock value, and not because it added much to the story...i'd much rather have a film that examined the sources of the art, like pollock did...

this film just seemed like a lazy effort

Good point, knip.
I mainly wished that they would somehow treat it even-handedly. It would be a bit strange to take it out though.
