The Olympics are on??
I don't have a TV. Someone broke in and stole it. And that damn cable box too... just ripped it out of the wall. If I had been standing there watching the burglary I would have said, "hey, easy there. don't rip it out of the wall. and leave that damn cable box, would ya?"...
So yeah, that's life in the big city apparently. If I wanta watch TV I gotta go to the Irish pub, which is no place to watch TV.

The link between sport and peace is very old indeed. The first Olympic Games for which written records exist took place in Ancient Greece in 776 BC. It's very likely, however, that the Games in Olympia are even older than this, with many people believing that they date back to the 2nd millennium BC.
It was forbidden to enter the sacred City of Olympia with weapons. A truce called "Olympic Peace" was held during the month in which the Games were held to allow the athletes and spectators to travel to the Games in peace.
http://www.dadalos.org/frieden_int/grun ... lympia.htmNovember 2003: The General Assembly of the United Nations were unanimous in voting for a truce during the Olympic Games between the 13th and 29th of August 2004 in Athens.
The Greek foreign minister, George Papandreou, said before the plenum that as the host of the 2004 Olympic Games Greece felt responsible for promoting the Olympic ideal. "We hope that Athens will become a beacon of peace during the coming Games", said the minister. "Let us use this international institution of peace to send out a symbolic message of peace for the Games and, indeed, for a more
I like the Olympics, even still.
I like the idea of it.

I used to breed hamsters
when I was a kid
I know, it's a humble occupation
one of the tasks involved was watching them mate
it was a very quick affair
lasted about 2 seconds
if you blinked, you would miss it
looked like a vibrator rodent orgasm
you could barely see it
but you had to watch
because the male needed to be removed
as soon as breeding occurred
or else the female would kill the male
and eat his brain
I'm not kidding, this was a real situation
you had to get the male out of the cage
or else the female would eat his brain
and then have his babies in sixteen days
I was only reminded of this by the fencing competition at the Olympics
I can barely see the act happening
watching a fencing match is like watching hamsters fuck
it's over before you know it's begun
if you blink you will miss it

These eyes don't make me a poet
They only make me weep
They only make me weep

tonight I'm going to watch the US girl's gymnastic team kick some major butt
these girls are brilliant
I always cry during the gymnastics competition
it's such an exhibit of perfection
plus all the girls look like Tinkerbell
you can imagine fairy dust sparkling from their heels
and I always cry when I see Peter Pan too
