That is so interesting
The juxtaposition
I keep flipping back and forth between the two shots
Like the water in the digital
Like the sunrise in the 35mm

Nice work thanks for posting them together like that.
It will keep me amused like a cat with a shiny thing.
It that metaphor makes any sense

almost Cecil
I said sunset not sunrise, had to go back and edit it.

Spent the first half of my life on the east coast. Watching that sunrise over the water,
Such an uncanny feeling watching it set into the pacific for the first time.

not spooky or weird just strange as in the sense Freud might use the word uncanny.

"the uncanny, as ....{the} familiar turns into the strange."

Glad to see you Richard, not much has changed since last time you were here, I am still the rambling fool.

I sat on the beach in VA. Beach one morning just before sunrise and as the sun came up I could see it below the water line or horizon. It was an unusually calm sea that morning and the sun shinned through the water before it crested the horizon. it was an amazing moment that I will remember forever. For years I have waited on the shores of VA. to see that event once again but to no avail. A once in a life time event I am afraid!!!

I do hope to one day see the sun set on the west coast. Around here there is always land in the way.

Lovely photos.

Would love to create a banner from this one, if that's ok with you.

.....

I loved your NC photo, too, cecil.

Trying to figure out how to get to the shore next week.

Need a break.

Like I have said before Doreen, use any thing of mine you like for banners. I would be honored if you do.
