That's about perfect! And it's getting more so every day, it seems..Arcadia wrote:...the first ones [internet] have a more opaque-explicit-psicodramatic-ad-absurdum-theatrical tone. Interesting, also!!!!
And mousey, I don't know what us'all are on about half the time either. I just keep getting loster and loster.
judih, I like your mosaic description. Reminds me of something I wrote: the sum of basins and ridges adds up to a larger desert mosaic-- a much larger realm that may be harder to figure than the sum of its components. I hate the speed of "life" too; I'd really like to take my foot off the gas..

Apparently. Looks like the Jerry Springer Show around here lately. It's been very upsetting to me. I've been sitting here in tears for the past 20 minutes after some email exchange with another person I thought was my friend. I feel like a fool.
Oh well. I try. That's the best I can do. I really have no clue what I did to deserve being treated like this. Fucking internet. I really hate the internet. I thought this was a pretty good site myself.
As I say to you every time you say you're leaving, I hope you change your mind and come back. We'll miss you.
Be well.
Enjoy your time away. Take it easy.

I am telling you D
this is real
like the word is flesh deal
but even so
I am sorry to hear you upset
because if you are not having fun here
after all the work you do here
it ain't no fun for me either.
Come on over and join the tribe
I don't know who it was
but it hard for me to think a man could get you that upset.
if it was a man
sheet
don't mean nothing this whole thing has been about male agressison,
tell him to go shit in his hat, sounds like he has issues, male issues. has nothing to do with you.
if it was a woman
then I would take it more personal
and think about whether she is telling you the truth as painful as it is.
I think I would rather be a freak on the jerry springer show than a creep in the audience.
out of here
hope I see you later
over there.
arcadia I will post a clip from the jerry springer show because I hope you don't know anything about it. I would hate to think our decadent culture has made to Argentina and the show is on there in Spanish.

in your second post on this thread where you referenced that previous thread that got deleted, wireman's post about "what do you do?"
Seems like that thread carried over into this one.
That other thread seemed to be about male agression.
I don't know who upset doreen
but it is hard for me to imagine it was a guy.
Am I being a sexist?
I think I just made a blunder and posted something to the wrong thread.

Okay
I found the post I sent to the wrong board.
I really should have preceeded the above I am going to try and delete and repost in sequence unless some one has posted while I am editing.

something mousey1 said nazz
about if she was in the room
reminded me of a poem
this thread is not about male aggression
I got my threads crossed
I am talking about the thread that seemed to percipitate (precipitate?) this thread.
This thread is not about male agression
This thread is like "Tea at Rachel Varnhagen's"
this is a sweet thread nazz
thanks for kicking it off
I still have to do a more careful reading of the exchange between you and Cecil.
I just ripped and ran with it.

Man I am so out of wind here mousey, I am in over my head. There would be no long-winded speeches, which I seem prone to do here, because I am always worried I'll lose my audience before I get to the good stuff. Plus of course I try to read the faces of my audience and if they look bored well shit I'm shutting up quick. No way that can happen here, you got no faces or eyes to roll!

Thanks, you guys.
I just took a drive, then came back and played 5 games of scrabble.
That's my binky.
I'm calmer now, less upset.
It'll all be OK. If people don't realize what I good friend I am, then that's their problem not mine. I really never lost a friend before. It's a crappy feeling especially when you don't know what you did wrong. But life goes on. I have lots of other friends.

If I had a facebook account with three thousand friends
how many friends would I really have?
I got a membership in the Religious Society of Friends
How many friends do I have?
I believe that in a lifetime
one is blessed to have made one or two friends.
true friends. I am surely blessed because I have three. After this life of mine they are the most precious gift my parents gave me.

This is a tough one. I would of course prefer person to person contact... for the most part. But there are some people in my life who I have a better relationship with if I only communicate with them via the internet superhighway. I take this kind of thing on a case-by-case basis. For instance, I would never get into those online dating websites trying to find the love of my life through instant message, but I do concede that there are people that I have known personally who have met their lovers off the internet and are in committed relationships to this day. My daughter's paternal grandfather for instance met his current wife online about 7 years ago and they've rarely spent more than 2 days apart since they met. Not knocking it, just not for me. But, some of my dear friends came from the net. I have guy from Scotland that I met on AOL about 10 years ago and we visit each other every year, sometimes twice a year. We speak on the phone regularly. I don't think it's impossible to meet great people with whom meaningful relationships, platonic or otherwise can emerge. I don't think I could've grown as an artist and poet the way I have if I hadn't developed the relationships with the people from studio eight and litkicks especially, when I was really finding my voice, the beautiful Doreen Peri for instance, who's praise and encouragement were a constant inspiration. So I don't think I answered your question, but those are my thoughts on the issue.
