The 2008 Democratic Convention Speeches
I missed Ted Kennedy's speech last night ... I wish I didn't... . Need to find it on youttube to watch.
But last night's speech by Michelle Obama was so inspiring! What a wonderfully articulate lady with a passion for unity and helping people! It brought tears to my eyes!
I didn't think I could be more inspired than that until I saw Hillary's speech tonight and she just blew me out of the water! What power and grace and style and finesse!
Both of these women were awe inspiring, passionate about their love for human beings, their purpose for reclaiming our country, and working on fixing how screwed up everything has become due to the Bush administration and fixing the image of America in the world.
I am way inspired and am very much looking forward to the rest of this process with high high hopes that Obama becomes our next president.
For the past 8 years, I've been worried beyond belief that our country could never become America again.
But tonight, I have hope!
It has been an historic 2 days. I have great hopes for our future!

I have been tunning it out. I just want to vote for Obama and move on
I would like to hear the speeches, but I don't want to sit through all the instant replay and analysis.
I will probably tune in to the republican convention because I have a morbid curiosity and an interest in the macabre
Will we elect the dead guy in November?
We are still Amercia, it don't matter who is Washington DC, we are still America.

I started out as a Hillary supporter, but as the campaign cranked up, her conduct turned me away. It seemed to be all about her, to be all, "Help me make history," as if that was enough, the only reason to vote for her. That and some of her moments of unbridled ambition caused me to become troubled. Obama, to my reading, didn't ever seem to take that tack. It wasn't, "Help me be the fist black president." It was,"Things need to change. Let's change them together." So when Edwards dropped, I went with Obama. But after last night, watching Hillary's speech, I find I'm with you, Doreen. The part I liked most was where she said (to paraphrase), "If you think this was about me, it's not," not merely suggesting but fairly instructing her voting block to throw their support behind Obama, rather than spitefully vote for McCain or opt out just because Hillary didn't get the nomination. She rose in my estimation in that moment. The future is wide open.
Peace,
Barry

I've been for Obama pretty much from the beginning, Barry. He's the most inspiring public figure in my lifetime.
But I also have the utmost respect and admiration for Hillary.
Once he's elected (oh gawd, I sure hope he's elected because if it's McCain, we'll be in deep shit again).... Once Obama's elected, I'm sure he will use Hillary's service in his administration to the benefit of the country.
It is truly an historic time in history. Keep the faith!

I agree with you, Dor'...
I've enjoyed the inspired speeches by Michelle Obama (amazed at how articulate and smoothly she spoke to millions of people with such ease), Hillary (she absolutely hit a home run with that speech, powerful, defined and wonderfully delivered), Wed night's Bill Clinton (has anyone ever heard a bad speech or delivery outta this guy?), and Bill Biden rocked my house... a very sincere, likable, intense person that spoke from his heart. All in all the past two nights have been great political theater performed honestly and soulfully by four individuals that America should indeed be proud of. Last night was truly an historical night with Barack Obama becoming the first black American to run for the President of the United States. Another achievement that our country should be proud of beyond any doubts.
Tonight, Thurs, the show continues with Obama giving the speech of his life in the Mile High Stadium before an intended record crowd of voters, admirers and devotees. I will be tuned in, comfortable in my seat, ready to be amazed by this period in our history. It is all very, very special on so many different levels...

You know me jimbo
Clay got my number
I am an idiot
You know I hope you get that kiss on the top of your noggin from that nurse but I think McCain got a pretty good chance of winning.
No time to watch the video's now
moron them later
I did notice the gay and lesbian signs showing in one, too soon for the
republicdumbkins to play that card yet. Probably October they will play the homophobe card.
nice to see ya jimbo
later after I watch

Thank you again for posting them.
Just the way I wanted to see them
straight up
without pundits feeding me instant opinions.
I still got to find the video of Bill's speech.
I liked this bit from the Springfield vid
almost like a rap
