poem erections

i get tired of clever poetry
written by intellectual hands
forming worlds from vagaries
describing places
and thoughts that
i'll never see
much less comprehend

words woven with just
the rights colors
- matching
- coordinated
pleasing to the eye
balanced and pretty
just standing there
looking to be read
by eyes more
cultured
than my own.

but what i read
i discriminate
like some
motherfucker
having no reason
but just that feeling
that swells up
like an erection
and knows what it needs
