This time of year ...chicken heads and a pig gutted hanging silent in his death stink...potatoes gathered in musty piles the rats will feast...herbs hanging in cote d'azur fragrance...and the kids pile leaves and wait for the day of the dead....

Day of the dead

And I am thinking Laura Nyro high ku

"And when I'm gone
There'll be one child born
And a world to carry on"

Family traditions and cemetaries
always around the end of the year
just before (or after) the high holy days that always seem to fall
in the autumn

My baby sister and I
have modified the tradition
we goto visit the ancestors
on Armistice Day November 11.
Our maternal uncle's birthday,
he a combat veteran of the pacific theatre
of war world two.

I am thinking about getting a myspace page
call it a
a shrine to myself
Friends could go their to throw flowers on my grave
or rocks
“Where is that man who has forgotten words that I may have a word with him?”
