typecasting

Post by saw » September 27th, 2008, 9:28 am

in an age of velcro
your numbness disturbs me

even with anticipatory self defense
I still worry about your sticky tentacles

rising up from the center
of your gooey invigorating morass,

reaching high to grab me like
a mobile rodent glue trap, tangling

me up in your indifference to sentimentality,
winding me up in your cat's cradle charm

of insensitivity to warm blooded bodies....
it irks me to no end to be attracted

to someone that's not my type.
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

saw, I really like this piece
it shows your usual thoughtfulness

good angle
combines the personal with the univeral
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

The Poet's Eye

Saw, you tie it all together brilliantly with the last line. Well constructed and most excellent.
