Tell Me Mr. Jung

Post by Lightning Rod » October 31st, 2008, 2:34 pm

it was a strange dream
my little geodesic house was in it
so were you
I had chased you down a cliff
we were in the rain on a narrow trail
just below the dome
I can't remember if it was an argument
or just spirited conversation
but suddenly there was a tornado
it was black and it snaked up the cliff missing us
it was a silent tornado
we ascended to the dome
at least part of it was still standing
then there was a confetti storm
but the confetti was playing cards
tens of thousands of them falling from above
fifty-two pickup on steroids
in my dream, we hugged

What does this mean?
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

i can't figure out why i'm in this dream,
but the falling cards must have something
to do with house of cards given the emphasis
of the dome home and how the tornado wrecked it
your foundation is not as solid as you once believed...

but, por favor, eLRod... don't bring me into your dreams without asking first. okay?

haha!

"I'll letcha be in my dreams
if I can be in yours."
I think Bob Dylan said that
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

bob dylan did say that indeed.

though I always think Mtmynd knows what he's talking about. I think the falling cards could be the sign of a new change thats going to come...maybe a good one, you know somethings stiring in there, something new, and that you should just let it happen.

"you may say i'm a dreamer but i'm not the only one" John lennon said that.

yeah K&D

the falling cards could represent a 'New Deal'

(FDR said that)
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

gestalt it.
you are every element in your dream
you are the dome - speak your mind - what do you see
you are you - what is going on
you are the cliff
you are the rain
you are the narrow trail
you are the other
you are the argument - why do you exist
you are the tornado!
you are black and snakey and missing the 2, and silent
you are the 2 of you
you are the partially surviving dome
you are the storm
you are the confetti playing cards
and you are the cards
you are tens of thousands of falling cards
you are hugging you
and you are hugging you

(if i were you, i'd be smiling right now)

judih, are dreams really that subjective?
(I admit the possibility that they are)

but if we are going to go all gestalt on me
we have to also accept the possibility
that the images in our dreams are not necessarily about us
they can be collective images or ones authored by another

(also, nice poetic response)

i beleive that people can have dreams that are representations of the fear of those around them, not the person having the dreams fear but sort of a representation of energy you may be picking up from the environment your in. I think it happends to kids all the time. Then Again I just spentfour year in college in santa fe N.M....but i had a friend who was intrested in art therapy.

they mostly use art therapy with kids and the children of abusive parents would often have fears even if it was there mother being abused or dreams of things like rape etc when it wasn't them but their mother being raped etc etc....so i think its possible to have dreams that are more about the environment your in then you yourself, if in deed as an old man you can still pick up on that stuff, i think children are more like sponges then older people.

I'm still kinda spongy, KiDdo

this was exactly my point. and also Jung's
I think we get dreams from the collective mind
not from our own minds.....well,
probably from both

OK well I'll be more serious.

The geodesic dome house represents where your soul is housed. It's built that way to be sturdy and functional, something the creator planned very carefully. Yes, it represents your physical body.

The cliff represents.... how shall I say this? hmm... I know! A cliff! It is a symbol for danger and/or drastic change.

The rain is a symbol for wetever you want it to be. heh.. sorry punning again. But seriously, it means that you're not in control of everything no matter how much you think you are. There's always going to be something you don't expect and you'll just have to weather the storm.

The huge change in weather, the tornado, obviously is about health or a change that will occur in your life that you don't expect. I hope you don't have the silent killer.

The path is clearly how you will handle this unexpected change, the direction you'll take when a very difficult problem hits.

As I said the dome is the physical body. The fact that some of it stays solid and still standing after enduring challenges to your health or the health of someone who is dear to you is a good sign. It means you or your loved one will be able to withstand the storm. The foundation is strong and steady.

The fact that the tornado turned into confetti is also a good sign. What do they make confetti out of? Cut up pieces of newspaper! Whatever the bad news is, you can shred it and move on! You are a survivor!

The playing cards represents chance. It also is a symbol for a sucker. There's a sucker born every minute. It's all a game of chance. BUT it's whether you play your cards right which determines whether you'll win the game.

What will it mean to win the game? That's easy.

The embrace says it all. It says loving life and loving yourself and loving other people is the whole point. All you need is love.

And there you have it.

I love dream poems. This one is no exception. Share more dreams!

I hope others will too.
