Subject Obama-a better commander in cheif
Message As a 61 years young veteran, I continue to meet other vets who want the next president to be Obama. Last week I met a brother Nam Vet who had opened up the artillery base Phouc Vinh in 1965-66. I flew into the same artillery base on numerous occasions in 1970-71. In August '71, I saw a deserted Phouc Vinh artillery base with defoliated desolation, abandoned, and I had to ask "why?"
This goes way beyond Senator McCain's idea that we can never "lose" another war. This is simplistic and irrational. We need common sense and foresight in engaging the U.S. military, and the country suffers for a lack of this better leadership.

He has his finger on the button
He is our commander in chief now.
He is our commander in chief now.
Our country has been trashed, the democrats have not been able to secure the 60 senate seats it takes to control debate. The republican minority has still retained much power. I hope McCain does his bit to help undo the damage done.McCain's Grace
My transcription may be imperfect, but the gist is clear and inspiring:
"His [Obama's] success alone commands my respect for his ability and perseverance. … Senator Obama and I have had and argued our differences, and he has prevailed. No doubt many of those differences remain... And I pledge to him tonight to do all in my power to help him lead us through the many challenges we face.. . . I urge all Americans who supported me to join me in not just congratulating him, but offering our next president our good will and earnest effort to find ways to come together to find the necessary compromises to bridge our differences and help restore our prosperity, defend our security in a dangerous world, and leave our children and grandchildren a stronger, better country than we inherited... It's natural, tonight, to feel some disappointment. But tomorrow, we must move beyond it and work together to get our country moving again."
