staccato singularity of line

Enjambment frustrates clarity of thought.

bedazzled heights of grace of branchless palms

On tiptoe with the sun I’m eye-to-eye.

analogies of enigmatic things

A life can count its breaths in retrospect.

I love you (one). I love you (two). I love.

I love you twice; two-thirds remainder of.

Deflating lungs as if to genuflect.

as you to me as takes away to brings

I draw us simple lines across the sky.

all single lines to read upon our palms

I love you more— more simply than I ought.
