i talked with a doc on veterans day
he shook my hand and said
"we are both veterans"
then i shared some thoughts about the lying president and his friends
and about thhe tragidies it caused among veterans
and he said yeah he knows the secretary in the nursing office whose
son came back from iraq and shot hisself in the head
then he told me his next door neighbor is a retired marine colonel
who was in charge of the killing teams in vietnam
(referring to the phoenix program)
and he just smiles a lot and is real friendly
and i wanted to say "that was a piece of work, right?"
but missed the opportunity

I read horrible news in pagina/12 some months ago about the lack of medical assistance to ex-soldiers. It seems they are literal consider only carne de cañón (local expression). Sad. I hope someday you don´t need to have more soldiers in combat (damaged or not). I also hope USA won´t invent machines to do the job.
