books

Post by Arcadia » December 12th, 2007, 3:47 pm

thanks judih I feel I weight sixteen tons less !!! I put some of the books I have read and I have somewhere as I remember them in the shelfari shelves (some of them really at home, only some of some of them in the only book-shelf I have, the rest in other places in some caotic order  , others at my father´s house, others in some friends´s house..) There was a time when I thought it would be nice to have them all together... a big dark wooden library!!!!!!!! maybe a coleccionist mania, maybe because I also love books as objects, maybe the need of some objective-memory display, I don´t know... well, it seems it´s not already a problem anymore now!!!!!
Santiago Kodvadloff, wrote a beautiful essay about his biblioteca and how the appreciation of it was changing through the years. The high reading voracity when he was young, the need for more place for the books, the problem or not about order, the books still not read, the books that you won´t re-read anymore, to drop some books, to make the biblioteca smaller, the idea that there will be books that you won´t read, the aparent seleccion problem...

Books are mere props, or perhaps mere steps, or perhaps a path. Put up shelves or take them down, in time with the road, in time with literary construction..

books are for readers. writers don't need books, only harder drugz.
