i moved my "fuck you" finger today...
four weeks i have been unable to work. I say unable according to the definitions of my employer. today i bent my middle finger. i never thought i would be in a position to be so thankful for such a small bend of a digit i have always loved to keep poited up high and in the face of authority. and yet today i made it bend 30% of what it should be able. in my mind i want to make a fist. it is so physical that i am not able to. my mind cannot make this hand cure its breaks. i am humbled by the side of my own un able ness. i have a high tolerance for pain. mental and facial. this hand injury has shown me that i am breakable. this makes me angry. i cant make a fist. i really cant. my hand wont allow my mind (even strong minded drunk) to move the digits into a fist. but today, i moved my fuck you finger just a little bit.

can someone else please tell him that he should recover as reasonably as possible and doctor recommended? that you can't just go from 4-week splint to fist in ten minutes? and that trying to do so could possibly ruin recovery? and that doctors recommend certain things for good reason?
I'M JUST SAYIN. i'm worried. i AM optimistic for speedy recovery, i would simply prefer that he keep a lid on it.
babies are breakable too. so are little kids. and big kids. big kids like us were babies once.
it really isn't mind over matter?

no thanks truck.....not needed. It's not like i am forcing my will onto my hand. i am just taking it out of the splint and trying to do small exercises so the fingers rehab as quick as possible. any man would do the same.

i'm doing my best. Gonna go back to work this monday (hopefully) and do my best to operate my saw. The Doc cleared me for light duty but the shop has none available. I talked to my supervisor and told him that even with the splint on, i can work at about 75%. They told me to come in on monday and let em know how I feel. i am in the midst of week 5 being outta work. i am going stir crazy. had i known it would be this long i would have road tripped back east for a visit. i am really thankful though for my companies understanding and the medical benefits. i was also able to get a very cheap aflac policy through them. aflac has kept denese and i well above water financially. thanks for the concern truck. did you see the xray photos on deneses blog?

No I missed the x-ray pic, I think it is gone..
As if I listened to my doctor.
I cut a tendon and I was supposed to keep the splint on to keep it stretched out. Now the finger is curled up because I got hassled with the splint being in my way. I took it off after a couple of days. Lucky it is only a pinky finger. Now I look like a dainty englishman when I hold a cup of tea. And I got to becareful when I shake hands or the guy will think I am goosing him in the palm with that dam finger.
That fuck you finger is way more important than a pinky. Take care of it. I would hate to see it not heal proberly, god what the hell would they do, break it again and reset it?
Do as I say not as I do.
Happy to hear you are on the mend.
I remember that finger avatar of yours, I kind of liked it.
