I spent the day waiting
for nightfall. I spent the night
waiting for morn. I spent my
life waiting for death while
wondering why I was born.
I spent the morning counting
seconds to the heartbeat in
my chest. I spent a decade
racing to when and wondered
why I never get rest. I spent
my hard earned dollars on
interest on money loaned.
I spent years and years just
waiting for everything I had
postponed. I spent it all and
more than that I spent it and
don't know how. And still I can't
figure for the life of me
whatever happened to now.
