Our job is to uplift, not tear down.
From the great temples to begging suits on K Street,
we're on a short leash and shorter fuse, we refuse,
to lie down and take a dive on the altar of foisted honor,
bestowed so freely by the Great Cause of signal and pixels.
Take another bullet to brain for Normandy; it's in the blood.
Lust is a many splendored thing, the survival experiment,
handed down through centuries, those ghastly apparitions.
They might get away with it this time; we're all on welfare,
gearing up for the big one, the shakedown, no need to lie.
A billion peace loving war makers can't be wrong.
Keep asking for peace and never stop fighting.
What do we know about playin' ball?
We're just kids.

this point in history poses an interesting dilemma for citizens that have been lulled to sleep my an endless array of entertainment gizmos....
apathy won't get it done...and given the tanking economy, we're all gonna have a lot of time on our hands....will we get out in the streets,
will we go back to bed, will we become savages.....your poem raises a lot of these questions.....well done

It came to me one day as I slugged it out with a venom-spittin' right wing human megaphone-- God love 'em, all my brothas & sistas. He was angrily cataloguing the evils of any and all forms of "socialism", and I thought to my self, what a won-der-ful world... no, I mean, I thought: well, isn't that essentially what we have ongoing in the interminable, bloody, pathetically misunderstood military occupation of Iraq? Militarized Corporate Welfare under the banner of a huge heap of Noble Slogans? When he/we first invaded: "Your actions will determine your fate. Do not destroy the oil wells". (paraphrased)-- George W. Bush, circa 3/19/03...
