Quiet Explosion

Post by saw » June 12th, 2008, 5:37 am

Gatorade and Slurpies
aren't enough
to suppress the madness
of jobless citizens
that make love
to the Lottery, that last
sexy harem of refuge
between a brand new day
and a life below the underpass.
Even open fire hydrants
and the perpetual fountain
of crack
won't stop the stampede
of desperate scraping fingernails
gouging the locked doors
of Haves
for water, food, more drugs,
stuff to steal
for diabolical fences
whose businesses are booming.
Kaboom....
Here it ?
No, me either, it's a silent boom,
invisible to blind authority
or those decent folk
workin' two jobs,
way too busy in times of rest
cumming to porno video games,
to notice the blight that creeps
along the highway into town
like an invasive species
of Sumac.
This boom is a black market boom,
that thrives on misery,
Sis Boom Bah Humbug.
This boom is only audible
to the dealer's sensory pocketbook,
this is a silent boom,
like a peep in the graveyard.
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

Indeed I hear it...Indeed I wonder if those are ranks I will join...and if so, how can I make it better????How can I not fall over into the helpless, angry edge of it?
wonderful, and knowing piece here saw.
