Function vs. Form

Post by saw » July 26th, 2008, 10:18 am

with my own bare hands
and the sweat of my brow,
with the muscles in my back
and the genius in my mind
I built the most beautiful building

the world had ever known,

and it collapsed,
raining down
in its elegant glory
without a hint of fanfare
upon my swollen head.
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Saw...I needed this write badly....it felt good, soothed this nagging hankering I've been having lately for a double boilermaker......
Thank you

Of course in architecture the goal is to achieve both.

But the idea makes sense. All form, no function does not hold up.
For example, that's why the world is often fed up with politicians and political hubris, especially now.
