sunrise

Post by Doreen Peri » September 4th, 2008, 12:37 pm

i awake before the dawn.
sunrise puts its gown on,
rises slow above horizon's
reach.

i allow it to teach me anew,
life born through a window shade.

i trade midnight misperceptions
for the birth of daylight, eyes peer
right atop a clear late summer morn

and i repair what has been torn
with a glance of ray, become the
offering for the day,

lay myself open
to endless possibilities.
i do not beg but often
cry out please!
