shine and spell

The floor plans of phase one ...
the spiral and scroll curled underneath a compass
as an architecture of the mind

as simple in phrase and music
counting syllables
in a wine glass and synonyms

the square as first amongst fools
to symbolize the overture
and create a sign

the rest was deciphered by design
as passage or staircase
ladders to a nether plan and world

she first stepped into a mess
seeing first a room the candle light and dress
having last seen everything she did contest

wearing upon her crown
a jewel case and locked drawer
in all one’s memories

a box
and dreams stolen
by men with swords

Gawd this is beautiful!

Wonderful phrasing, images, meter ... subtle rhymes... rolls off the tongue

and there are levels of meaning here that challenge the mind

It's a really nice piece. I'll read it several times.
