i like that. there aren't too many cecil's walking this planet.

a couple walked in our tent during a show and looked around at our wares. i began a conversation with them.

the gal asked me "what's your name?"

"cecil."

'cecil!! my uncle was cecil."

"not many of us around..."

she continues: "he was really a nice guy wasn't he?" asking her mate.

he agreed: "he sure was. i really liked him.."

"you're a really nice guy!" she says lookin' right at me.

i smiled :"but you hardly know me..."

"i can tell. it's in your eyes. you're a nice guy."

"thank you..." my voice trailed off but my smile stayed intact.

"i've met some other cecils, too." she continued... "and every cecil i've ever met were all nice guys"

"really?" i was surprised to hear that.

"yeah... i've never met a cecil who wasn't a nice guy"

"how many have you met?" i'm curious now.

"three or four, i think. but my uncle was probably the nicest. but really, cecil, all the cecil's i've met have been really, really nice."

"thank you," i reply...

her and her mate both told me good bye and walked away to the next tent. never bought anything despite my being a nice guy.

(btw: i rarely wear a hat. i have a full head of hair, but i liked that line...)

Nothing to do with nothing but I like juxtapositions,
on the same youtube page as Cecil listed under related videos

I thought it was you singing at first. He got that twang to it. Good music, thanks. Was that guitar he is holding an Ovation?

this one dedicated to you Clay

I can't remember but I think I met a Clay once.

Or maybe it was Clayton. A bad old man. One of those snakey owner operators who was
"He was so thin i swear you could have used him for a whip " Tom T. Hall

A sawed off shot gun and a billy club by the driver's seat, pistol and a knife in his boots. Nobody you want to f*ck around with. This back in the days when truckers carried big money for expenses, before computers and plastic.

Those owner operators spent a lot of their time in the belly of the beast, NYC Hunts Point, LA the produce markets down near the first st tunnel. Places like that.

sincerely stilltrucking et al.
She is twice the man I am.
