Lightning Rod the Anti-Hero

Post by Lightning Rod » June 14th, 2009, 8:04 am

Lightning Rod the Anti-Hero

I love you like the soil loves its worms
fond decomposition and weathering mold
tender demolition with loam enfolded in sand
my castle crumbles in the tide of your terms.

Batman is Bruce Wayne and Superman Clark Kent
every hero has his dual identities
it protects them from the paparazzi, you see
I wonder where my civilian clothes went?

I've been pulling long hours to make the world safe for love
I can't even get a weekend in order
to disguise myself as a mild mannered reporter
you can have this hero job when push comes to shove.
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

from the first mention of worms, i knew this rhapsody to the anti-hero was going for uber kryptonite status

(where is that super-l-rod avatar that doreen designed?)

excellent work - here's hoping for a weekend pass in the near future

Your cape
waving about-
You are the hero and anti-hero
rolled up into a sushi role of identities.
Every bite unravels the flavor of dualities.

You cannot let go of one, without the other following.
The road to happiness: Perseverance, Endurance and a whole lot of Hope.

even the anti-hero becomes a hero in the eyes of the people who loves him (or her)...even if you feel like a worm some days. btw. i love that line... "I love you like the soil loves its worms"...
