So....

Post by hester_prynne » September 24th, 2009, 12:37 am

If Obama is really serious about hearing every nation's opinion and everyone working together, I can't help but wonder why so many left their seats today at the UN meeting when leaders of other countries, (especially Iran) were speaking. I mean, sure, maybe what they were saying was weird, but I thought the idea was to listen to everyone and come together.
Plus, i'm wondering how many seats were empty, if any, when Obama was speaking for America?
I think I must be quite naive about politics. Can someone help me understand this? It just seems like blatant hypocrisy....
Thanks,

The news report I saw said that delegates started leaving when Gadafi (sic?) launched a rant that included amoungst other things his sleeping habits. The reporter said they began to remove their earphones and look for a time to quietly slip away.

Peace,
Barry
