there must be a line
or maybe not
between compassion
and self pity
I have drowned in self pity
until if found compassion
for others and then I could
find compassion for myself
when my words
are mis construed
I used to get angry
now I consider it my failure
I shoulda woulda coulda wrote it better maybe
But failure does not bother me anymore
"the world revolves around the hand that writes"
writing for money
I don't have the balls for that.
it takes courage to do that I think
I apologize for my comment about being money well spent
I am sure it was money well spent
don't worry keep on writing
Don't take me too serious
I am just a fan of yours.
There was a bear in the old Pogo comic strip from the 1950's that could write but not read. Something like aphasia. I sometimes feel the same. I know the feeling as I write but I am not sure what my words convey. I wonder why so many writers do away with themselves when they get blocked from writing. I suppose that proves I am not a writer. This is nothing but a compulsion for me. I wish I could take these red shoes off.
I appreciate your tolerance for this ramble if you can find it in your heart.
My phone rings and rings
got to have a phone
so many telemarketers depending on me
bill collectors too
meanwhile I piss my money away on books
instead of doctor's bills.
Remember that young guy on litkicks who used to love to get the gray beards ranting and raving. Was it you? I forget. Maybe it was "Learned"
doesn't matter

There was a bear in the old Pogo comic strip from the 1950's that could write but not read. Something like aphasia. He had to get his friends to read to him what he had just wrote. I feel the same. I write but I am not sure what my words convey. I wonder why so many writers do away with themselves when they get blocked from writing. I suppose that proves I am not a writer. This is nothing but a compulsion for me. I wish I could take these red shoes off. But it is a monkey on my back that won't let me be. Something to do with time I think. (and self pity and vanity)

I have always been crazy about money
still a kid at seventy giving it all away
I have even torn it up
