snowshoeing

Post by keithalanhamilton » December 25th, 2009, 3:24 pm

snowshoeing
different than hiking
sort of like sasquatch
doing the bigfoot thing
outside in the snow
throughout, around
that wooded drumlin
you gotta, yes sir
get the knack
pick the feet up
each and every time
lookout for them rocks
don’t trip on those twigs
‘cause if you fall
not easy to get right up ~
why do I do it
plain and simple
it’s so much fun
I get to be in Nature
and it’s great exercise
being more than
something for me to do
as a mystic
snowshoeing is spiritual
well, besides all that
I just really, really like it

Like old Bob Marley said (sic)" There's a natural mystic floating through the air,,," I know what he meant...Some places have that sacred space
that you can really feel. Is that sort of what you mean? I can even feel
it in my backyard under my favorite Austrian pine tree. Night time is
the right time to glimpse the stars under that old tree...

Spiritual experience to me, at least in this instance snowshoeing, is the interactivity/interconnectivity that occurs during the process of the activity, which emerges a felt sense (intuitive, emotive, etc.) between the participant and the surrounding environment.
