Resilience

Post by .Lucy. » October 13th, 2010, 10:27 am

When things fall apart,
over
and over
again-
You realize it's
you
that's always the
strong one.

And you wonder
if there will ever be
a place for you
to breathe.

Ben's been jammin'
hens' speckled song,
penned in a zoo
mended all wrong.
Den of the wolves,
ten howlings long--
men among monks,
Jen's old sarong,
Yen in Japan,
Zen in Hong-Kong.
Ken and Barbie,
endive and bong
tend and pretend
send it along.
When I am weak,
then am I strong.

Imagine...imagine...imagine. I keep running into Lennon's imaginations (the weirdest being Madonna's cover of "Imagine" from one of her concerts...not a bad thing, but not what I expected. I suppose that was Lennon's hope, that we all might imagine), but I wonder if when I meet John face to face (in a reunion of life in which I'm placing all my penultimate hope) if he won't have composed a epilogue that shifts in some nuance from "imagine" to "wonder" -- and I think that'd be a song where resilience like yours, Lucy, will be understood and celebrated...and a time when we all, yes, wonder...wonder...wonder!
