Cotillion

An invitation to the dynasty of chemical existence
propels me to the Empirical estate of Avogadro.

The eye is astounded
by the many rich, nickel colored ballrooms
filled with fermions dancing the Bosonova,
electrons spinning in orbital twirls to the quadrille,
dineutrons caught in transient pirouettes.
A mass of rhythmic energy coiling and retracting.

I make my way to the great hall,
towards the lovely spread of sweetened ribosomes
and abundance of elements.

I pick up a delicate atomic hamantash,
biting into the apricot nucleus
as The String Theory Quartet plays my favorite tune.
