Trouble With God -- a spiritual

Post by Hollweg » February 10th, 2011, 2:00 pm

Ain’t nobody knows my trouble with God.
Ain’t nobody knows my trouble with God.
If He loves men of peace, then why all this blood?
Ain’t nobody knows my trouble with God.

Yesterday, God took away my feet.
Yesterday, God took away my feet.
Now I can’t even walk down the street.
Yesterday God took away my feet.

I’ve been God’s cat’s paw these many years.
I’ve been God’s cat’s paw these many years.
He needs me to cry real tears.
I‘ve been God’s cat’s paw these many years.

I prayed God each day to make me strong.
I prayed God each day to make me strong.
Don’t know what He had me do that was wrong.
I pray God each day to make me strong.

God is pulling away at my legs.
God is pulling away at my legs.
Won’t even be able to kneel and beg
God to please don’t pull away my legs.

God is writing the words to my song.
God is writing the words to my song.
I’ll lose my hands if He makes it too long.
God is writing the words to my song.

I used to have trouble with God
because I was irony-deficient.
