that blue-eyed boy's innocence has been destroyed
a monster
an addict
has been deployed

erratic behaviors
vicious tempers
hope has surrendered
discontent's winds ignite abandoned truth

an uncontrolable fire rages on
possibilities are long gone

this combustible cancer engulfs the man I once loved
combustion seeking destruction
flames licking, searing
threatening all I hold dear
the end to a cherished friendship
I fear

the drugs
the flames
can't burn
away the pain

the pain he holds in his heart
deep within
the embers
the burn
that let this fire start

set these lives a blaze

this situation is dire
as flames burn higher
please save me from this wild fire
hear my final plea
if not me
please save his family

please save this blue-eyed boy
his pain is just that
the eternal
burning torment
of an little boy
his childhood destroyed
just the same
by his paternal flame

the flame where he got that pain
help him set free
the pain
extinguish the flame
