Use your imagination bennie

"Trakl had too much imagination. For this reason he couldn't stand war, which arises above all from a monstrous lack of imagination. "1 --Franz Kafka

jimboloco I been thinking about using that Kafka quote as a signature line. I also been thinking about those canteens

a metaphor
i watched
their canteens
bouncing single file
into the jungle
I can see the possibility that someone might write about those canteens bouncing and think brave thoughts, the word bravado comes to mind, but all I see is men who love each other so much that they got to go, just to cover their backs.

tears, tears, yes tears ain't it sweet to be alive, tears such a warm fuzzy sad primate thing to do.

so much talk about honor these days, such an honor to die for your country these days, in a religious war is always good too, I do not wish to dis honor the band of brothers, the memory of their friends, but G-d willing I will make my pigramage to The Wall, probably break down and cry, wailing WHY?

you honor us jimboloco, with your art.

It's a flag, but hey, now I see it, the little monk has suddenly appeared on the wing!

There was, is hopefully, an awesome little temple not far from Phan Thiet on the coast. It is at the top of a high cliff on the sea wall. There are stone steps leading up to it. I saw it, just a glimpse, several times, and never paused to think about it, except that it became later a memory that appeared with certainty and clarity. Infact, I remember it well enough to do a memory drawing of it!

A Buddhist angel of mercy sitting on the wing! The flag becomes a robe.

The guys who got killed were knifed by a sapper at night. He came and went, unknown. As far as Cheny goes, well, he's the emporer's naked butt.

well it's true. why poetics, creativity, enhancing the aesthetic sensibility somehow has got to be what gives people a clue.

i like the little buddhist angel, kuan yin, sitting on the wing!

laughter and tears
amid the joy and fears
tempered by solemnity

the fires of the hearth
a dearth of despair
already burned to ashes
nowhere to turn but inward and outward
and at the same time.
used to feel bad about crying
mostly laugh these days.
"And all shall be well and
All manner of things shall be well
When the tongues of flame are in-
folded
Into the crowned knot of fire
And the fire and the rose are one.
