IN THE SMALL PRINT.

Post by dadio » June 29th, 2011, 3:37 am

Always read the small print, his father said,
That’s how they catch you out those bums,

They’ll hide things away in the small print
So you don’t notice the conditions, don’t

See how things apply which could affect
You and make it awkward for you, and

Remember son, his father went on, they’re
Always in it for the money, always out for

The profit, and his father sat back in his
Armchair and looked at his wife ironing

Over in the corner, and said, mind you get
All the creases out; I hate it when you leave

Creases in the darn sleeves, and his wife just
Looked at him and shook her head and sighed,

Knowing something within their outmoded
Love and overripe marriage had long ago died.
