bedfellows not

Post by saw » July 19th, 2011, 7:12 am

prolonged percolation
the humiliation brew
the abased cells that drip
through the sifters holes,
and let us not leave out
all the bit player indignities
we all accept now as okay
the fuse has been lit brothers
I'm sorry to talk like this today
the preacher that's mad
both ways to sunday, I'd rather be
the great pretender
another run of the mill shellfish
in an aquarium for hungry diners
but for some odd reason, some
force I cannot neutralize elbows me,
so I must at the very least give misery
equal time, is that too much to ask
that joy doesn't get all the air time
fair is fair, and I know it is only when
I try to empathize that I can see
the world, only when I allow myself
to be blanketed in pain for the moment
that I touch the real mc coy,
sure, sure, there are alternative
places to hide, I know of them
they know of me, but we will never
be lovers
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

we commiserate the indignities
we say this too shall pass
and forget to remember
so too the good times

another good poem

never say never my mother always said- all the men i loved said never say always
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
