Burning Man

Post by izeveryboyin » February 9th, 2005, 4:55 pm

So I'm finally going to this ridiculously unheard of festival w/a buncha friends, in the middle of the desert so we can be bohemian hippie freaks with each other. Wanna join. check it out. http://www.burningman.com we can all jam together, and torch a car while the bonfire lights. But beware folks... it's spooky outside.

Those who know, know.
Ray, of scriptor press, who put out my last chapbook has been going for 6 years (i think, or more). It sounds wonderful. He reports of people from all over - including Israel - gathering, putting up habitats, sharing food, mind and gifts and living cooperatively till the end.

The huge Man hovers over the event till the last day when he's burned and all that was is packed up as if it never was at all.

In our high school, right now during a 2-day Art happening, a group of kids, including my son, are building a huge human effigy and are doing a burning man scene. My kid's so impressed, he's sure he'll make it to nevada one day for the real thing.

Have fun, kayla. Be prepared to share something. And you will gain so much.
