my sons were in milan
watching the father
powerless
the only woman that gave that man anything
was me
he loved me
reserved in a place no one else could see
was a place that was only for him
only for me

having children with each other
commited us inside
in a different place
where no one can hide
the truth always prevailed
the sadness increasing
then he is here
with me
telling me to wear make up
not to be so sad
although this world took more than we could give
the babies we had are gold
the young men they became
the beauty
the love

although i cry
i know ......... pain
liver transplant? that is just insane
but he had to try
he always did
he loved me when i was with other men
carried me when i was so lost
when all is said and done
it was his heart and soul
that won
a race at a pace
only he understood
now i wake up crying
having coffee with him
at 3 in the morning
he knows i can hear him
i feel sorry now
for the other men
he proved you can love a woman
in a way that made them jealous
give them thier life and freedom but understand what is important-
we did
30 years later

i visited the house we built
a castle in our sands
watching the blanket
in the light

i love you primo
always have
always will

reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.
